Glock Binary Trigger Franklin Armory - There was an uproar at SHOT Show Range Day over a microphone Franklin Armory refused. They discovered the Glock binary trigger. Yes, you read that right. A pull/release trigger is designed for use with the Glock. We got a closer look at it in the showroom and took it on a shooting day.
When Franklin Armory came out with their binary trigger, it was always a dream for Glock to have one. Until now, it seemed impossible. The engineers at Franklin Armory did. Life finds a way. The Glock binary trigger is called the G-S173.

Franklin Armory will make a custom Glock binary trigger for the Glock 17, but it won't be a simple trigger swap. To get the Glock binary trigger, they did some magic with the slide to process the trigger. So when you buy a Glock binary it will have a slide and trigger. You must provide your own barrel, frame and recoil spring.

You can see that the Glock binary image is not the same as the regular Glock 17 OEM image. The slide has notches to accommodate the magic.
Like other binary triggers, the Glock binary trigger will have a switch. This is the rotary selector on the left side of the slider. Turn it up for one pull. Turn it down to activate binary drag/drop mode.
Franklin Armory had two prototypes on hand. Below is a nicer prototype with the optics on top.
Below is the second prototype. They are not sure if they will offer optics or not, they are still deciding. I hope so. They are also exploring options with slides.
Best Binary Triggers In 2023
I shot it on Range Day as well. I found the trigger to be a little different than what I'm used to. But it works. I also shot a close-up of the trigger moving in slow motion to see how it moves when manipulated in binary mode. There are a few interesting things I learned about this trigger from high speed.
If you watch the slow motion video carefully, you can see two phases that reset during startup. It advances about halfway and the striker is released to fire another round. After the bolt stops moving back and forth, the trigger is pushed forward to its final position where you continue to pull back for the next shot.
Franklin Armory plans to sell the Glock binary G-S173 for $899. While some may have sticker shock, remember that the regular binary trigger is around $300 and the HK binary trigger is $700. That makes the conclusion only an additional $199. You still have to supply your own barrel and recoil spring. They are targeting a Q2 release date.
